1911 Census

The census was taken on the Sun/Mon  2/3rd April 1911.   There are two separate spreadsheets one for the Bishop’s Waltham part i.e. the ‘North’ of Waltham Chase and one for the ‘South ‘ of Waltham Chase i.e. that part that came within the Shedfield area.

If you are interested in the occupations for the 1911 census the “Online historical population reports” list them.  There are also websites that expand further on occupations:  “A Dictionary of Occupational Terms used in the 1921 Census” and on the Hall Genealogy website – “Old occupation Names“.
