I have been researching my family tree, a branch of which resided in Shedfield (Bakery and Grocery business in Church Road), 1870 – 1960/’s70’s. Part of my investigations led me to your web site and in particular the History and ‘I mind the time when …’ section. One of the contributors is an ancestor and her comments provided valuable information about the Boggust shop. Additionally, the collective recollections of the piece gave me a good understanding of village life at that time.
To help me communicate my findings to the rest of my family (both young and old), I have written (or have attempted to write) my discoveries in book form covering the Shedfield business and the people behind its success and what life was like back then. In order to do so I have quoted from various sources (e.g. British Newspaper Archives) including your web site (specifically the section mentioned above).
I am writing to you to seek permission to do so. This book will not be sold and only distributed to my family and of course your Web Site has been acknowledged at the beginning of the work .
Once printed (may take some time), I would be more than happy to provide Waltham Chase Village Hall with a copy.

    Yours,
    Linda Salter

Dear Linda, I was given the book by Grace Emery, she gave it to me years ago, as I used to visit her to ask about the village history and people. I have no problem with you quoting from the website.
      Good luck
