W.I. January report

Our first meeting of the new year is the time when members renew their subscriptions and is a good indication of whether our WI is successful and meeting the expectations of our members.  As our numbers have consistently risen in past years, we must be doing something right!

Several notices were bought to the member’s attention: ‘A Healthy World for Women Day’ at Shawford; the Spring Group Meeting to be held at Botley Community Centre, and Shedfield WI’s 96th Birthday meeting, being one of the first WIs in Hampshire.  We then discussed and voted on this year’s Resolutions, a process carried out by all WIs and determines the campaigns that the WI will pursue.

Our new programme is out and can be accessed on either the village hall website or Waltham Chase Village website, or on the notice board in the hall.  We are looking forward to some good Speakers and events during the coming year, one of which is a visit to Lordington Lavender, the farm of one of our Speakers. Looking ahead members have already started collecting for next year’s Christmas boxes

We will be at the hall at 7.15pm on Tuesday February 9th , and you would be very welcome to join us.  You do not have to commit to joining, just come as a visitor.
