The December meeting was our Christmas meal, held at Banks in Bishops Waltham. An enjoyable meal in good company.
January sees the start to a new year with subscriptions to pay and the expectation that all members rejoin. A one minute silence was held to remember a very loyal member Florrie Smith, who passed away just after Christmas. This meeting we had craft demonstrations from our members. Our President gave a demonstration on how to make honeycomb, which was distributed around and other members, demonstrated paper cutting, card making, crochet etc.
It was decided to carry on collecting throughout the year for the Samaritan’s Purse Christmas shoe boxes. Several members are attending the Spring Council Meeting at Portsmouth when the guest Speaker is Janet Street-Porter. Having won the Bishops Waltham Group Skittles, our team is now competing in the County semi finals at Wellow Golf Club.
Future events we all look forward to, are the Group Spring Meeting at Shedfield with lunch and a Speaker; social skittles in the village hall; a visit to Tinwood Wine Estate, and days out yet to be decided; although many members would like to revisit the BBC Good Food show. We attended the show in November and came away with ‘goodies’ and James Martin has increased his fan base.
Should you like to join us at 7.15pm on the second Tuesday of the month in the village hall, please just call in and Sue will meet you at the door
