Litter picking

Posted by Martin Clarke, Sunday, 27th March 2011 @ 10:32pm

Today was a great day litter picking! Gary Pothecary organised us all and ran everything as smoothly as clockwork.  He even supplied refreshments while we were working.
I was shocked at the amount of litter that is around the area. I encourage all villagers to get out there and pickup the litter that is spoiling our environment.
Contact Gary who will be glad to see new members refer to the Activities page.

Award to Waltham Chase volunteers!

Posted by Martin Clarke, Friday, 11th March 2011 @ 10:13am

Waltham Chase residents, John and Sara Bostock  have been ‘litter picking’ for many years around the village area and have now been given recognition as part of the Voluntary Action Awards.
At a ceremony on the 9th March 2011 at the Guildhall, Winchester the Mayor presented them with lapel badges and certificates.

I know I speak for all Waltham Chase residents in thanking, not only John & Sara but all the volunteer litter pickers who donate their time and energy to keeping our village looking clean.

PS. Remember that there is a Litter Picking event on the 27th March at 2:00pm see http://groupspaces.com/WCRA/item/107087 for more details.
