B2177 road closed .

The B2177 was blocked at Waltham Chase  due to a tree falling from the front of Brooklyn. The tree took down power lines and telephone lines. This happened at 13:00 on the 21-10-2017. No one was injured but a van was damaged.  A local couple who had just driven passed the tree before it fell were a bit shaken by the incident.

As at 16:00 the tree was being removed by a local tree surgeon and the Highways, Electricity Company and Openreach were on hand.  The tree is reported to be over a hundred and ten years old and had two trunks side by side, the remaining trunk is now expected to also be removed for safety reasons.
